27.11.2017

Bulgaria will host the 7th Meeting of Heads of State and Government from the Countries of Central and Eastern Europe and China in 2018. This was agreed during the plenary debates in the framework of the Meeting of Heads of State and Government from Central and Eastern Europe and China, which is currently held in Budapest.

I am grateful to the Prime Minister Li Keqiang, to Prime Minister Victor Orban, to each of my colleagues for their support for Bulgaria as a host for the next summit of the “16+1” initiative, said Prime Minister Boyko Borissov. He pointed out that the next year is very important for our country also because of the first Bulgarian Presidency of the Council of the European Union. “The high degree of motivation and mobilization of the government, resulting from the preparations for the Presidency, will also contribute to the preparation and organization of a successful hosting of the 7th Summit of the “16+1” in Sofia,” said Borissov.

He reminded that in 2018 Bulgaria will also host another key event in the framework of the “16+1” format – the meeting in Plovdiv of local leaders. Important events will also be held by the Centre for strengthening the cooperation between CEECs and China in agriculture in Sofia.
