Bulgaria signed a Memorandum of Agreement with the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, which guarantees support for the implementation of projects, funded by the European Structural and Investment Funds for the period 2014-2020.
The memorandum provides the basis for a fruitful cooperation of the Bank with the management agencies and the beneficiaries through the contraction of bilateral agreements for provision of project support. The advisory assistance by the Bank within the framework of the Memorandum will be given in a wide range of fields of cooperation, such as improvement of competitiveness, commercialization of municipal services, water reform, reform of the energy sector and energy security, financial instruments, etc.
On behalf of the Bulgarian government the Memorandum was signed by the Deputy Prime Minister Tomislav Dontchev, on behalf of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development – by Larisa Manastirli, director for Bulgaria.
With the signing of this document the successful and sustainable cooperation is continued between the government of Bulgaria and the international financial institutions concerning the implementation of projects, funded by the Cohesion Policy of the European Union, which started during the first programming period for our country 2007-2013.
