BOYKO BORISSOV: WE START TALKS WITH THE MAYORS ON THE MEASURES FOR DECREASING THE ADMINISTRATIVE BURDEN FOR THE BUSINESS AND THE CITIZENS

07.06.2017

Decreasing the administrative burden for the business and the citizens depends as much on the government, as it depends on the local authorities. This was discussed during today’s meeting of the Council of Ministers in respect to the drafting of measures for decreasing bureaucracy. Prime Minister Boyko Borissov underlined that it is necessary to use all available instruments for common work with the municipalities for solving the problem.

“This debate will be held publicly, in the presence of the National Health Insurance Fund and the mayors. We will explain and we will listen to their opinions. If there is need for additional financial support somewhere, we will provide it; what is important is that ultimately the time that a citizen or a businessman, who needs to have a certain document issued, is curtailed and their time is not lost in the process. In practice, we will have ten times more benefits in return under the form of time saved in administrative efforts, even if we have to provide additional funding,” said Prime Minister Borissov.

The Minister of Economy Emil Karanikolov underlined that the analysis that will be finalized by June 15 will be made available to the business and the Committee on Economic Policy in the Parliament so that they can also get acquainted with the reforms that will be undertaken for decreasing the administrative burden.
