With deep respect towards the Bulgarian statehood, I congratulate all on the anniversary of the Independence.
Bulgaria has gone through a lot of difficult moments in its history, but the strong spirit and will of the people have always won over the unfavorable events and have pushed our development ahead. With this energy and the desire to prosper, our forefathers have fought for the announcement of the independence of Bulgaria and for our country to become equal to the other states. Thanks to their efforts, the international image of our country has been established. On this day that has defined the development of our country for the past 109 years, let us express our recognition and gratitude to all, who have defended the right of the Bulgarian people and state to have an independent choice and who have worked for their cultural and economic progress, for their prosperity.
Today we continue to build on the history that we have inherited from the grand deeds of those Bulgarians and namely for this reason we should be even more responsible for the fate of the next generations. As an independent state, part of the big European family, Bulgaria is in the eve of taking over, for the first time, the presidency of the biggest economic union in the world. All this is the result of the efforts and work of a lot of Bulgarians over the years. Let us not forget them and let us continue their noble cause.
