09.08.2017

“Let us not feel at ease because of the results, but instead work even more actively, we must collect more revenue”, commented Prime Minister Boyko Borissov at today’s government session, whereby the data on the state budget balance and the main indicators of the consolidated fiscal program for the first trimester of 2017 was presented. According to the information, provided by the Minister of Finance, the balance for June 2017 is positive in the amount of 1 746,7 million BGN (1,8% of the forecasted GDP). It was noted that according to preliminary data for the month of July it will increase to close to 2 billion BGN or around 2% of GDP.

According to Borissov, when there is political stability and coordination in the actions of the revenue agencies, the services and the prosecution, results follow. “I am not saying it as a reproach. Each period of instability in the country becomes heaven for smuggling,” pointed out the Prime Minister, mentioning the example of the decreased revenue during the term of the caretaker government.

He said that the active work will continue for collecting each Lev in the national budget, because these funds are necessary for a lot of sectors, for co-financing of European projects and for projects improving the urban environment.
