Zhecho Stankov - Minister of Energy

Zhecho Stankov holds a degree in Economics from the University of Regensburg, Germany, and is recognized as a leading expert in energy policy and development. With extensive experience in energy efficiency, renewable energy, and modern infrastructure projects, he has established himself as a key figure in Bulgaria’s energy sector. As former Chairman of the Bulgarian Energy Holding, he has played a crucial role in advancing strategic energy initiatives at the national level.

Mr. Stankov’s political career began in 2011 and he is widely regarded as one of the most active and competent specialists in the field of energy policy and governance.

From 2015 to 2021, he served as Deputy Minister of Energy, where he led numerous projects aimed at enhancing Bulgaria’s energy independence and aligning with EU energy standards. Since 2021, he has represented the Burgas region as a Member of Parliament for GERB, contributing actively to national legislative processes.

In the 51st National Assembly, Mr. Stankov serves as a member of the Budget and Finance Committee.
