Manol Genov - Minister of Environment and Water

Manol Trifonov Genov was born on June 14, 1960 in the town of Asenovgrad. He graduated from the Plovdiv University "Paisiy Hilendarski" (major: "Russian Philology"). He holds a Master's degree from the "Dimitar Tsenov" Academy of Economics in Svishtov (major: business management).

He was a municipal councilor and deputy mayor in the municipality of Asenovgrad. He worked as a controller and manager of the Plovdiv Water and Sewerage Company.

He was elected member of parliament in the 43rd National Assembly (NA); 44th NA; 45th NA; 46th NA; 47th NA; 48th NA; 49th NA; and 51st NA. He was the Deputy Chairman of the Parliamentary Group of the "BSP-UNITED LEFT" in the current 51st National Assembly and Chairman of the Temporary Committee for Establishing All Facts and Circumstances Regarding the Problems of Water Deficit in the Country. As a member of parliament, he was member of the Environment and Water Committee, served as its Deputy Chairman four times, and in the period 2021-2022 - as its Chairman.

He is currently also the Regional Chairman of BSP-Plovdiv, a member of the National Council of BSP, as well as of the Executive Bureau of the party.
