Prime Minister Galab Donev: I expect the energy crisis management headquarters to take up real actions that bring concrete results and not to speak about intentions

04.08.2022

I expect the energy crisis management headquarters that was set up following my order yesterday to take up real actions that bring concrete results and not to speak about intentions. This is what Prime Minister Galab Donev said at the start of the first regular sitting of the new caretaker government.

The Prime Minister was firm that his responsibility as Prime Minister would be to seek options to address the problems and not to create illusions. The government knows what it is doing and does not need external consulting services, Galab Donev insisted.

As early as tomorrow the Ministry of Energy, jointly with the Ministry of Finance, will draw up a plan for the financial stabilization of Bulgargaz so that the company has the financial resource for the gas supplies. To that effect, next week the Ministry of Energy will invite bids for short-term supplies of liquefied natural gas so as to ensure the country’s gas consumption until the end of the heating season. “These are the results we achieved after last night’s work of the crisis management headquarters. Work will continue over the weekend so that we can be as transparent and honest as possible before the Bulgarian citizens, before the Bulgarian general public and before the Bulgarian businesses,” Galab Donev said.
