You will always be welcome to our country and I hope that there will be many occasions and opportunities for you to revisit Bulgaria in the future,” Prime Minister Glavchev addressed Ambassador Dixon. The Prime Minister thanked Ambassador Dixon for his significant contribution to the development of cooperation between the two countries and noted that major success has been achieved during his term in office. “The British Embassy’s vigorous interaction with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and with the Bulgarian institutions laid the foundation for the development of our strategic partnership,” the Prime Minister pointed out.

The Prime Minister emphasized the good cooperation in the sectors of security, defense, energy, border control, migration, the countering of terrorism, justice, the judiciary, economy and investment.

The Prime Minister and the Ambassador agreed that it is extremely important that the two countries continue to support Ukraine. Prime Minister Glavchev said that he had discussed the subject in Switzerland with the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, Rishi Sunak. “We strongly insist on support for Ukraine. We will continue to help Ukraine in their absolutely just cause in the war with Russia,” Prime Minister Glavchev said firmly. The Prime Minister emphasized again that Bulgaria will make a concrete contribution to the recovery of Ukraine and therefore we will work together with all democratic countries.

The Prime Minister expressed his strong desire that the active political dialog at all levels between the two countries should continue following the appointment of Nathaniel Copsey as the new British Ambassador to Bulgaria. He will take office in August.
