PRIME MINISTER BOYKO BORISSOV MET WITH RUSSIAN МINISTER OF SPORTS PAVEL KOLOBKOV

Prime Minister Boyko Borissov met with the Minister of Sports of the Russian Federation Pavel Kolobkov, who is on an official visit to Bulgaria. The two underlined the long-standing friendly relations between Russia and Bulgaria in sports and were categorical that the two countries will continue their good cooperation in the future.



The Bulgarian Prime Minister pointed out that our country has invested heavily in sports infrastructure and mentioned as examples the multifunctional sports buildings in Sofia, Plovdiv, Ruse, Botevgrad, Slivnitsa, Shumen, and others. "We have invested 350 million BGN and at the moment we have a very good material base for training the athletes," said Boyko Borissov. He added that our country has good sports traditions and that the visits of the Russian Minister of Sports and the President of the International Olympic Committee Thomas Bach are the best proof that Bulgaria is doing well in this sector.



Pavel Kolobkov praised the good organization of the three world championships that are held simultaneously in Bulgaria and highlighted the excellent preparation of the Bulgarian rhythmic gymnastics team.



The meeting was attended by the Minister of Youth and Sports Krasen Kralev and the Ambassador of Russia to Bulgaria Anatoly Makarov.



Prime Minister Borissov sent special greetings to Russian President Vladimir Putin. The Prime Minister invited the Russian Minister of Sports to attend the Men's Ski World Cup in Bulgaria this winter.
