Kiril Ananiev was born on 2 July 1955 in Sofia.
He has graduated the Higher Economic Institute in Sofia in the field of “Finance and Credit”. Ananiev has specialized in finance and social-cultural spending at the University of National and World Economy and in healthcare reform in Chicago, US.
Kiril Ananiev started his career at the Ministry of Finance in 1980. He grew in the ministerial hierarchy through all expert levels and reaches the positions of Head of General Directorate “Government Spending” and Deputy Minister of Finance in four governments within the period 1998-2017. He also served as a Secretary for Financial Policy at the Administration of the President of the Republic of Bulgaria (2009-2011) and as an Advisor with the political cabinet of the Prime Minister (2013-2014).
He was appointed caretaker Minister of Finance on 27.01.2017 with a decree by President Rumen Radev.
Since April 2017 he served again as Deputy Minister of Finance.
He was elected for Minister of Health on 10.11.2017 by the 44th National Assembly.
Appointed as a Minister of Finance of the Republic of Bulgaria on July 24, 2020.
