Nadezhda Iordanova- Minister of Justice

Nadezhda Iordanova graduated in law from the Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski”. She specialized in English commercial law at the London University of Law. Her enrolment with the Bar Association in Razgrad has been since 2007.


Her legal expertise is in the field of administrative and commercial law, enforcement and dispute resolution in the implementation of projects funded by the EU and other international organizations.


Nadezhda Iordanova worked in the Ministry of Regional Development and Public Works where she started a career as an expert and moved up to Head of the Legal Directorate. She was an adviser within the Open Government Initiative of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID).


Nadezhda Iordanova was Chief of Staff of the Justice Minister Hristo Ivanov (November 2014-December 2015).


Nadezhda Iordanova was Member of Parliament from Democratic Bulgaria and Deputy Chair of the Standing Parliamentary Legal Committee (45th and 46th National Assembly). Chair of the so-called Magnitsky Commission (46th National Assembly).


Nadezhda Iordanova was a participant from Democratic Bulgaria in the expert coalition negotiations in November 2021, in the justice and regional policy groups.


Minister of Justice in the cabinet elected by the 47th National Assembly on 13 December 2021.
