PRIME MINISTER BOYKO BORISSOV HAD A TELEPHONE CONVERSATION WITH KOSOVO PRESIDENT HASHIM THACI

10.04.2018

In a telephone call, Kosovo President Hashim Thaci assured Prime Minister Boyko Borissov that Kosovo does not aim to start any conflicts or armed hostilities. The conversation took place shortly after the meeting between the Bulgarian Prime Minister and Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic in Mostar, whereby the two expressed unity for peace and the European perspective for the Balkan countries.

Thaci thanked Borissov for his efforts in support of the development and European integration of the Western Balkan countries and assured him that only cooperation and assistance in this direction are to be expected from Kosovo. He stressed that he would assist both the Western Balkans Summit, which Bulgaria is preparing as President of the EU Council on May 16-17 in Sofia, and the peaceful and fruitful dialogue to solve the differences between Pristina and Belgrade.

Borissov and Thaci agreed on the need for peace, prosperity, and a Euro-Atlantic perspective for the region and added that they would work for it tirelessly. They also discussed the possibility for a future working meeting to discuss the situation in more detail.
