PRIME MINISTERS BOYKO BORISSOV AND LI KEQIANG EXPRESSED THEIR SATISFACTION WITH THE RESULTS ACHIEVED IN SOFIA

Prime Minister Boyko Borissov and the Chairman of the State Council of China  Li Keqiang expressed their satisfaction with the results achieved during the meetings in Sofia. They spoke before the departure of Li Keqiang, who was on an official four-day visit to Bulgaria. During the visit, the two Heads of Government held talks on deepening of the bilateral cooperation and on opportunities for further activation of the business contacts. Boyko Borissov and Li Keqiang also took part in the Seventh meeting of the Heads of State and Government of the countries of Central and Eastern Europe and China.


During the talks, Boyko Borissov and Li Keqiang highlighted the importance of the agreements reached in Sofia - the commitment of the Chinese side to the "Belene" Nuclear Power Plant project, China's participation in the implementation of infrastructure projects, the agreement on the founding of the Global Partnership Center of CEECs and China, as well as the signed documents on promotion of economic and trade cooperation. "We managed to achieve great results not only in our bilateral relations. The '16 + 1'  Summit also gives impetus to cooperation at a higher level," said Li Keqiang. Bulgarian Prime Minister Borissov proposed the Minister for the Bulgarian Presidency of the EU Council 2018 Lilyana Pavlova to take over the organization for the founding and the management of the future Global Partnership Center of CEECs and China.


During the talks in Sofia, Bulgarian Prime Minister Borissov and the Chairman of the State Council of China Li Keqiang stated that cooperation under the '16 + 1' Initiative aims to strengthen unity in Europe and to support the development and implementation of projects in different fields between countries from the region.
