PRIME MINISTER BOYKO BORISSOV: VIETNAM IS AN IMPORTANT PARTNER IN THE SOUTHEAST ASIA REGION

Vietnam is our trusted friend and an extremely important partner in the dynamically developing region of Southeast Asia. This was stated by Bulgarian Prime Minister Boyko Borissov during his meeting with Vietnamese Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc. The two met in New York, where the Bulgarian delegation, led by Prime Minister Borissov, participated in the 73rd Session of the United Nations General Assembly.

 

During the meeting, Prime Minister Boyko Borissov expressed our readiness to work for the development of cooperation in all areas of economic and social life. "Bulgaria and Vietnam are traditionally friendly countries, and I believe that the potential of the economic relations between the two can be expanded," said Prime Minister Borissov and added that it is necessary to increase trade between the two countries. The two Prime Ministers expressed their willingness to work actively for bilateral trade and to seek opportunities for cooperation in new areas.

 

Boiko Borissov and Nguyen Xuan Phuc expressed satisfaction with the intensification of relations in the field of education, research, and innovation in recent years.

 

During the meeting, Bulgarian Prime Minister Boyko Borissov and his Vietnamese counterpart discussed opportunities for enhancing cooperation in the labor sector. The Bulgarian side is in principle ready to start negotiations on the extension of the labour and social policy contractual legal base in order to regulate the labor migration between the two countries.
