Prime Minister Boyko Borissov had a telephone conversation with Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras. "We express the deepest sympathy with the injured and relatives of those who lost their lives in the fires that afflicted Greece. With concern and pain, we received the news of the disaster that struck the friendly Greek people, which resulted in human loss and caused heavy material damage," the Bulgarian Prime Minister underlined.
Prime Minister Borissov pointed out that Bulgaria is ready to provide technical assistance to Greece with 50 firefighters and two vehicles. He added that he had commissioned the Ministry of Interior to launch immediate organization upon a request from Greece for international assistance, and to have our forest-fire-extinguishing module ready to intervene under the EU Civil Protection Mechanism.
Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras is grateful for the assistance offered by Bulgaria and pointed out that he will contact the Bulgarian Prime Minister if the necessity arises.
