The Bulgarian Prime Minister highlighted the fruitful meetings he held with Egypt's President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi and Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly in October in Cairo. Borissov pointed out that the talks gave a significant boost to the opportunities for expanding and deepening bilateral cooperation in a variety of areas. "Steps need to be taken for expansion of the investment cooperation - both sides can play the role of a 'bridge' for their investment and export interest respectively to Europe and the Middle East and Africa," said Borissov. He added that both Bulgarian and Egyptian companies should be encouraged to develop their business and production in special economic zones. "Our desire is to step up trade and economic ties and investment cooperation where there is serious untapped potential," said the Prime Minister.

The decision was endorsed by the Council of Ministers yesterday and the committee's objective is to strengthen cooperation in the political, economic, commercial, cultural, informational, agricultural, scientific, and technical fields, as well as in any other aspect of bilateral interest.
