Prime Minister Boyko Borissov and European Council President Donald Tusk discussed the preparations for the Western Balkans Summit, which will take place on 17 May in Sofia. They spoke in the margins of the meeting of the leaders of the Brdo-Brioni Process in Skopje.
Donald Tusk congratulated the Bulgarian Prime Minister on Bulgaria's efforts for a successful summit in the Bulgarian capital. "We have been able to show Europe that without the Balkans there can be no stability neither in Europe, nor in the region, so a clear European perspective must be provided," Tusk said.
Boyko Borissov also thanked the President of the European Council for his support for the Western Balkan countries' Euro-Atlantic path. "I did not think that the President of the European Council would tour the Balkans to get a first-hand impression of them. I think that together, with you, we can pass on our expectations for a European perspective for the Balkans," the Bulgarian Prime Minister pointed out.
