BULGARIA AND JORDAN WILL STRENGTHEN THEIR COOPERATION IN TOURISM AND CULTURE

In the presence of Prime Minister Boyko Borissov and Prime Minister of Jordan Omar Razzaz, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the Government of the Republic of Bulgaria and the Government of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan on cooperation in tourism.

Bulgarian Minister of Tourism Nikolina Angelkova and Minister of Culture Boil Banov, and from the Jordanian side - Minister of Tourism and Antiquities of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, Majd Shweikeh, signed the document.

 

The Memorandum is an example of the continuing cooperation in culture and tourism between the two countries. The document reflects the readiness of Bulgaria and Jordan to strengthen their friendly relations and to contribute to the economic development and growth of their potential in tourism, as well as to the preservation of the cultural heritage. Bulgaria and Jordan will promote their cooperation in various types of tourism with the greatest potential. They will actively work to promote the role of cultural heritage among adolescents.

 

Among the main types of tourism mentioned as an emphasis in the document are cultural, festival, rural, culinary and more. A cultural heritage partnership with Petra National Trust is also planned. 

The two countries will exchange information on organizing and participating in international events promoting relevant tourism products, as well as in large-scale cultural events. Strengthening contacts for the development of tourist infrastructure and for the exchange of good practices that can increase the mutual flow of tourists is expected.
