All controversial issues must be resolved through direct negotiations between the two parties. This was stated by the Bulgarian Prime Minister Boyko Borissov during his meeting with the Prime Minister of Palestine Rami Hamdallah. "I want peace so much because our country has a longstanding friendship with the peoples of Israel, Palestine, and Iran," said the Bulgarian Prime Minister.

Prime Minister Boyko Borissov noted that Bulgarian-Palestinian relations are traditionally good and both countries will continue to work actively to further develop them. According to the Bulgarian Prime Minister a bridge to this jointly declared aim can be the over 5,000 Palestinian citizens who have received their education in Bulgaria. Borissov announced that there are currently many Palestinian students in Bulgaria who have chosen our country for their higher education.

Palestinian Prime Minister Rami Hamdallah thanked Boyko Borissov for being a true friend of Palestine and the cause of the Palestinian people. The Prime Minister of Palestine highlighted that his people are always have their hand stretched out when it comes to peace talks, but they do not always feel the same desire on the other side. "There were hundreds of people injured or killed in Gaza. Let the world pay more attention to this," Prime Minister Hamdallah urged. He explained that the negotiations between Palestine and the European Union are progressing slowly, asking Prime Minister Boyko Borissov and Bulgaria to help speed up this process. "I want to assure you that the State of Palestine will be an example of democratic governance," Prime Minister Rami Hamdallah said.
